About the FM's CDC Hopper Claret Trout Fly
FM's CDC Hopper Claret is a variant of the original Hoppers of the 1980s. They are successful throughout the season on most stillwaters.
Expert Tip:
The CDC Hopper will fish very temptingly on or just in the surface film. There are not many splashy takes with these flies, just nice confident slurps from brown trout. Count to three before striking, and you are well and truly in. Fishing the Hopper requires a leap of faith for most fly fishers.
