Wow, there has been a real battle in January's F4F top ten chart! The trend is Apache vs Bunny Leech, combined they dominate 7 out of 10 patterns in this month's chart!
It's clear that the Apaches have won overall by a fair margin, however we received a fresh supply over Christmas which many were eagerly awaiting, boosting overall numbers and an unfair advantage against Bunny Leech lovers.
Which do you prefer and why? Surprisingly few of our members mix and match, and we would love to hear your views as to why. If you are able to post a review on your blog or website, we may send you a reward; contact us for more info.
Of the 3 remaining patterns (there really wasn't much room for other patterns), a new pattern introduced last year made it straight into position 7, the Foam Bodied Daddy. It's a shame that more of our new patterns could not make it into the chart, as they could not compete with this epic battle.
Our other strong pattern, the snail, made it to position 6 and obtains great results this time of year when attaching it to a weighted line to force it down to the waters bed.
These trending flies show a great impression of what is happening on the water at the moment, and directly shows what patterns other fisherman are using to catch those fish!
