Last week, we had our largest batch of Apaches made to date; some of which nearly sold out within just 24 hours of being stocked! It made us think that it is about time we change the way our F4F Top Ten Chart is calculated - after all, who wants to see a chart full of Apaches each time we have more tied?!?
So from now on, instead of judging best upon volume flying out the door, we will switch to how many fishermen have ordered each pattern.
This will stop these popular patterns which people rush to get, buying them in their dozens at a time regardless of the season, from dominating the chart. It will also give Salmon patterns a boost, as recently we reduced the minimum order of Salmon flies down to a single fly! We believe this change will enhance the chart's relevance and value for the better!
In first place, having now been able to outpace the Apache White, is our Klink n Dink dropper fly, popular year round, especially in the Spring and Summer where you can fish multiple levels.
Both the Grey Wulff and Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear (of which we have a variety of hooks from size 10 through to 24) consistently perform well in May and June. Also, keep an eye out for the Hot Orange Blob, popular as spring changes to summer.
Lastly, but most importantly, the Adult Blue Damsel begins to gain traction in June, before it'll peak in popularity during August when Blue Damsels become plentiful over the summer months.
