What a rollercoaster, from all the wet conditions we encountered last month, to a sudden heatwave, then storms and wind, and now, fingers crossed, calmness for the weekend.
Throughout this, the Pearly Daddy and Shuttlecock Yellow Owl CDC patterns have been strong performers, coming in 1st and 2nd place respectively in the Chart.
Midges/Gnats have been good in the evening and when the wind is castable, they often get blown onto the water. Snails are also good with a breeze, drifting on the surface or hover mid-water as autumn conditions change.
A couple of popular Salmon flies, The Gillie and The Flame Thrower, also made the chart this month.
These trending flies show a great impression of what is happening on the water during September, and directly shows what patterns other fisherman are using to catch those fish!
