Dawsons Olive and can be fished on all kinds of fly lines and is particularly effective on an intermediate line.
It represents fry and works best when fished using a fairly fast short pull. It is taken confidently by both rainbows and browns on all still waters and is a big favourite of fly fishermen in the north of England.

Comments from other fly fishermen
This is not the original tying as Brian Dawson put it together. The hook should be a 2x long shank in a heavy pattern like a Kamasan B175 or B170. There is no bead head on the original, weight comes from fine lead wire tied on as an underbody. The tail should be AMBER and is twice the length of the body. The wing should be twice the length of the body in medium olive, NOT dark olive. The body is olive chenille and a rib of medium oval silver tinsel. Apart from that the fly you are selling here is OK but should have a natural Guinea Fowl throat.
Nice try though! - 2 out of 5 Stars by Paul Blackman on 03/12/2010
