About the Stewart's Millionaire Taddy White Trout Fly
Developed for the rivers of the Eastern Cape this fly is best used an hour before dark, with sinking, intermediate or a floating line.
It has been used with great success in fast water rivers in New Zealand and monsters have been caught using it in Natal proving it's widespread attractiveness to fish.
Stewart's method is 3 pulls wait 5 seconds then 3 long pulls - they have usually taken by this time, so I am told.
Expert Tip:
I discovered that as well as an excellent river fly, I had created a great still water fly.
It represents ANYTHING a fish likes!

Pattern Dressings
- Hook : Size 8.
- Silk : Light Grey.
- Body : Strip of Mink.
- Tail : Marabou with 3 or 4 lengths of strong, narrow, flat mylar/flashabou in various colours including blue, silver, gold and pearl.
- Butt : Floss or wool in Salmon pink.
Weight problem was solved by using beads, copper, brass, silver or gold.
I started off with a a strip of mink as a tail, plus mink wound around hook for body. I wanted to represent the tadpole. However it proved to be sluggish, needing more mobility I substituted mink tail with long marabou adding strands of flashabou.
