About the Sparkle Black Gnat Trout Fly

The Sparkle Black Gnat is a variant of the Black Gnat which is one of the most popular dry flies in the world.

In spring, and again in autumn, black gnats can be seen swarming near the surface. On lakes they often prefer the margins and the shade beneath overhanging trees whereas on rivers and streams, they are frequently densest over the slower sections.
