About the Alder Trout Fly
The Alder this another of those old patterns dating back over 300 years that are still firm favourites in many modern fly boxes.
This fly a good representation of the real insect and should be fished high on the water, near overhanging trees, bushes and reeds, where alder flies often fall in the water.
It is also successful as a caddis substitute.
